Tempering

At Julius Kirschner & Sohn, the heat treatment is carried out by quenching in oil.

Due to the rapid cooling rate and the oil medium, our blanks are particularly resistant to corrosion.

After hardening, the blank has a hardness of approx. 59 HRC (hardness measured according to Rockwell).
All stainless steels will also always be deep freeze treated and tempered.
After tempering, the blanks have a hardness of 56 +- 1
